Commemrative Banknote on the Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty the King’s
80th Birthday Anniversary 5 th December 2007

The uncut banknote sheet comprise 1-Baht, 5-Baht and 10-Baht denominations. The banknote paper, incorporated with mod-made three-dimensional multi-tone watermark, depcts the constitution placed on traditional-style gilded tray in yellow circle, and the metallic security thread containing translucent micro-characters “ 80th Birthday Anniversary ” in Thai characters, clearly visible when holding the banknote against the light. Under ultraviolet light, the alphabetical codes and serial numbers printed with special red ink turn into luminescing blue, the signatures of the Minister of Finance and the Governor of the Bank of Thailand printed with special black ink turn into luminescing yellowwish-green and the Thai numerals “ 80 ” printed with the invisible ink over the watermark turn into luminescing yellow. The security thread embedded in the paper also turns into luminescing yellow.
Each banknote is printed with Thai number and alphabetial code prefix “9ธ ” to represent His majesty. The Arabic number and Roman alphabetical code prefix “ 9K ”, followed by Thai or Arabic serial numbers 0000001-9999999, and “ 9R ” followed by Thai or Arabic serial numbers 0000001-5000000.

The main element on the front of each denomination is the portrait of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Other elements are the Royal Garuda Emblem and the Airapote elephant. Accompanying drawing of each denomination is the portrait of Their Majesties the King and Queen granting an audence to various groups of people who paid tribute to His Majesty on the occasion of his coronation in 1950 at the Sutthaisawan Prasat Hall, the portrait of His Majesty in a royal procession by land, marking his 3th Cycle Birthday Anniversary in 1963, and the portrait of His Majesty granting an audience to various groups of people who paid tribute to His Majesty on the Auspicious Occasion of the Sixtieth Anniversary Celebrations of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne in 2006 at the Ananda Samakhom Throne Hall.
The elements on the back of 5-Baht denomination are the portraits of His Majesty’s childhood, the portrait of Their Majesties the King Rama 8 and King Rama 9 on their return to Thailand in 1945, the portrait of His Majesty during his study in Switzerland, the Royal Emblem in Commemoration of the Celebrations on the Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty the King’s 80th Birthday Anniversary 5th December 2007, the Royal Garuda Emblem, and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the Grand Palace, and the Villa Vadhana in Switzerland.
The elements on the back of 1-Baht denomination are the portrait of Their Majesties on royal wedding day, the portrait of his Majesty in the coronation, and the ordination, the portrait of the Royal Family, the portrait of Their Majesties during their royal visit to foreign countries, the portrait of His Majesty in the Investiture of H.R.H. Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, the portrait of Their Majesties performing royal activities, the picture of a Royal Rainmaking Prpject’s plane, and the portraits of His Majesty playing the Saxophone and painting.
The elements on the back of 10-Baht denomination are the portrait of His Majesty in the Investiture of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, the portrait of His Majesty with H.R.H. the Princess Mother, the portrait of Their Majestesties performing royal activities, the picture of the Pak Phanang River Basin Development Project in Nakhon Si Thammarat, and the Chaipattana Aerator, and the portrait of His Majesty granting an audience to various groups of people who paid tribute to His Majesty on the Auspicious Occasion of the Sixtieth Anniversary Celebrations of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne.
